Andrographis consists of the dried stems and leaves of Andrographis paniculata (Burm. f.) Nees (Fam. Acanthaceae). It contains not less than 1.0% of diterpene lactones, calculated on the dried basis as the sum of andrographolide, neoandrographolide, 14-deoxy-11,12-didehydroandrographolide, and andrograpanin.
